The Citadel

The Citadel is one of the most famous touristic attractions of Cluj and probably the one that will keep you in the best shape, because, we will not lie to you, you will have a lot of steps to climb (so wear those comfortable sneakers). But it's worth it, because once you get there, you can look down on almost all of Cluj.

Fun Facts: The fortress was built by the Habsburgs and was also called the Cloud Fortress. The original purpose of the fortification was to defend and control Austrian troops.

Pro Tip: If you made the effort to climb up here, take a walk to the nearby Cetățuia Park, maybe you are lucky and you find an interesting event.
